Warm weather is right around the corner, which means it’s time to mix up some trendy springtime drinks. Here are a few that are refreshingly easy to make and fun to sip with friends.

1. Hard Seltzer Cocktails

Hard seltzers have been around for a few years now, hitting peak popularity during the summer of 2019. However, big brands like Corona and Bud Light are just now beginning to release their own versions of bubbly. With spring — and more hard seltzers — on the horizon, it’s likely these low-calorie drinks will remain trendy for at least a few more years.

While you can certainly drink hard seltzers straight out of the can, they also make delicious cocktails. Mix or muddle together fruits and herbs that will complement your favorite flavor of hard seltzer. Add ice, garnish with fresh fruit and sip away!

2. Sweet Tea Julep

When restaurants start advertising sweet tea, you know warm weather is right around the corner. Just like hard seltzer, this iconic southern staple is delicious on its own. However, you can also use it as a mixer in cocktails like the mint julep.

Make an entire pitcher of sweet tea julep by steeping one cup of mint leaves and three black tea bags in seven cups of water. Add two cups of sugar and one and a half cups of bourbon. Mix, garnish with mint springs and pour yourself a glass.

3. April Showers Cocktail

cocktails

April showers bring May flowers and, apparently, delicious springtime cocktails. This flowery concoction has such a perfect balance of sweet and tart that you’ll forget it contains alcohol, too.

Simply fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the three ounces of gin, one ounce of lemon juice, one and a half tablespoons of agave nectar and six ounces of grapefruit juice. Shake for 10 seconds and pour into a coupe glass. Garnish with edible flowers for flair. If you’re not a fan of gin, you can substitute vodka without excessively altering the flavor profile.

4. The Geisha

Looking for something to go with fish, scallops and other ocean fare? Try the Japan-inspired Geisha. This green-tini is reminiscent of underwater vegetation and features a half ounce of deliciously complex matcha green tea — which also gives the drink its vibrant hue.

In a cocktail shaker, muddle three to five cucumber slices with honey syrup. Add the remaining ingredients and shake without ice for a few seconds. Then, add ice and shake for 20 seconds more. Strain into a cocktail glass and garnish with a cucumber ribbon.

5. Whipped Coffee White Russian

Last year, whipped coffee went viral on social media, garnering worldwide attention for its looks and its taste. Now, you can make an adult version of this delicious drink and enjoy some easy sipping while you work from home.

Start by whisking together hot water and instant coffee until the mixture is fluffy and starts to form peaks. Then, fill a cocktail glass with ice and make a classic white Russian with vodka, Kahlua and vanilla. Pour the concoction over some milk, add your whipped coffee and stir gently. Finally, sit back, relax and enjoy!

Springtime Sippin’

Whether you make one cocktail to enjoy alone or whip up a whole pitcher to drink with friends, these drinks are sure to elevate springtime sipping. Cheers!
