Does cheap mean not great quality but you just need some candles quick? Does cheap mean I want the best deal on candles? We prefer to use the word affordable or inexpensive! You can get great candles that look great but are very inexpensive. Here are some ideas on making the best decision.
  1. Style of Candle
  2. Burn Time
  3. Saving time on purchasing

Style of Candle

This is one of the most important decisions when finding the cheapest candles. Why? Because the amount of wax used to make the candle is the strongest driver of the cost of it. Here is a list of candles in order of the least expensive to the most expensive. This is a great way to start if you are trying to save money. Use the style of candle that best fits your budget.

Burn Time

This is strongly related to the cost. The more wax a candle has the longer it will burn. Consider how long you need the candle to last. For example, consider a wedding reception that will last four hours. What is the cheapest candle to use for wedding receptions? Here is a list of burn times for average candle style.
  • Tealight Candles (burn time 3-5 hours)
  • Votive Candles (burn time 8-10 hours)
  • Floating Candles (burn time 5-10 hours)
  • Pillar Candles (burn time 30-90 hours)
  • Sphere Candles (burn time 20 hours)
In this case, the cheapest candles you could use for a wedding reception would be a votive or tealight candle. Both of them should burn long enough and both are a very good value.

Saving Time On Purchasing

A quick consideration is do I buy them on the internet or in a store? If you buy them in a store a good place to start would be dollar stores or discount stores.
